I’m starting the final leg of this Mexican winter adventure. I got the motorcycle out of storage in Cabo and will start riding north early tomorrow morning. Claudia flew to Seattle and then Bend. This past week we made our way back from Huatulco to Oaxaca to Mexico City. I think Huatulco was the highlight for both of us, but we also enjoyed Oaxaca (especially the Mole Negro cooking lessons), Puebla and especially the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. Cheers y’all!

Oaxaca & Huatulco
The end of our Mexican adventure is approaching, but we’re not quite done (and I still get to ride back from Cabo). We spent the last week in Oaxaca and then Huatulco on the Pacific coast. If you don’t know about Huatulco - look it up! This is truly a slice of paradise.

Mexico City - Week 3
Yep, we’re still here in México! This past week we visited the Basílica de Santa María de Guadalupe, the Museo Nacional de Antropología and the pyramids of Teotihuacán outside Mexico City. Not much was open for Christmas dinner so we ended up at Chili’s haha. Then we moved further south to the colonial city of Puebla where we also visited Atlixco and Cholula. Mexico is rich in culture and history. Now….we’re on a bus to Oaxaca.

Mexico City - Week 2
finished my second week in Mexico City and my fourth week on the road. The two weeks of Spanish classes were fun. I’ve now walked nearly 100 miles since arriving in CDMX. It has been so fun exploring the museums and markets here.

Mexico City - Week 1
I flew to Mexico City after leaving my bike in storage in Cabo. This is my first time in Mexico City and I really enjoyed the first week here.
Each morning this past week began with Spanish lessons. We would meet in a cafe for the first 2.5 hours and then explore the city the next 1.5 hours. It’s a great way to continue learning Spanish and see the city. Then after I would find a place for lunch and continue exploring. I walked nearly 50 miles this first week.
My favorite neighborhoods are Polanco, Condesa, Roma, and Coyoacán. The first one being the most posh - think Miracle Mile in Chicago. Tacos also seem to be a competitive art form. I’ve tried a bunch and have selected my favorite so far - Tacos La Chula in Colonia Juàrez.
The championship games for Liga MX were this past week two. Soccer is life itself here. The city is nearly paralyzed while the games are played. The underdog, Club America, defeated Monterey. Club America is like the NY Yankees of Mexican football, they’ve win more championships than any other Liga MX team.
Tomorrow I begin my second week in Mexico City learning Spanish and touring the city.
