Before I share the bad news, let me briefly recap the situation....
The motorcycles arrived a week late in Miami. Then Hurricane Ian slowed air travel throughout Florida. Shuli had some significant issues getting to Bogotá, after initially denied boarding due to a problem with his Columbian immigration paperwork, he flew the next day but missed his connection in Houston because of weather delays in Las Vegas. The bikes were crated on Wednesday and then delivered to the airport. US Customs inspected the bikes on Friday but needed the original titles. Guess where they were? Yep, documents for Shuli and Sergio were in the motorcycles INSIDE THE CRATE! Today the exporter went to the airport to open and retrieve the documents. They were successful for Sergio. Shuli had his top case locked and they could not get the key into the lock because the crate was so tight. They had no other choice but to take the bike back to the warehouse to get the documents and rebuild the crate. It will be taken back to the airport Tuesday and get back in line for customs inspection. That's our current situation.
In doing our best to make lemonade from lemons, we took Shuli to Monserrate. Sergio and I went on Wednesday but we thought Shuli should see it. A stroll through the Mercado de Las Pulgas en Usaquén (Usaquén Flea Market) was fun. We were fortunate to have Sergio's friends host us at their home for dinner Sunday and Monday nights. One of their friends was a Chinese doctor that also spoke fluent Spanish and Chinese. Shuli was happy to be able to have a conversation in his native tongue.
¡Nos vemos!
