Wow! What an incredible experience. I rode out into the salt flat 8.5km to find the Las Banderas monument. Just a couple of km out it is completely disorienting - the view is nearly the same in all directions. The salar is nearly 4,000 sq mi at an altitude of 12,000 feet.
The hotel is actually in the salar. My most expensive lodging so far at $150. This is a beautiful eco-resort and I would highly recommend staying here.
