MX22: Compadre Trail

It was dark by the time we made it to San Felipe…. The morning started off with us at the border at 8am. We were on the road again at 10am with our FMMs and TIPs. It turns out that Jan 6 is a holiday so we spent forever looking for a place to get a photocopy of our stamped FMMs for the TIP. Oh, and Sergio list his FMM, but miraculously found it in the street covered in coffee.

The Compadre Trail was an ass-kicker! That 60 mile section took us nearly 5 hours. The recent rains kept the dust and sand to a minimum, but the washouts and giant puddles were a bitch. Overall: Compadre Trail - 5, Tres Amigos - 3 (because we made it!). We made a brief stop in Ojos Negros to celebrate with Dos Equis.

The final leg was 3 hours of slab to San Felipe. We checked into our casitas on the beach, showered and ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. By 9pm we were asleep!
