Bogota - Day 3

Shuli and I finally got some well deserved sleep. We got up early and began filling out his paperwork to get a visa for Argentina.  No breakfast, just straight to work. Back to the embajada we went with Sergio -- we were told that he could not get a regular tourist visa without a long wait. However, we were given another alternative since Shuli is a permanent US resident. Fingers crossed.

What about the motorcycles you ask? They are still in Miami - crated and delivered to US Customs. They've been with Customs for a couple of days now and we are hoping they will be inspected today. The bikes arrived late and then the hurricane backed everything up even more. The expectation is that the bikes will arrive Tuesday. If we can get the bikes freed from Columbia on the same day, then we will hit the road Wednesday. We'll be here in Bogotá for the weekend.

We ate lunch at a crazy beautiful place with off-the-charts food. Clearly you can see there is a big difference between those-who-have and those-who-do-not. Shocking actually. We capped off the day with a trip to the Salt Cathedral (Catedral de Sal de Zipaquirá). This is a former salt mine converted into a Roman Catholic Church buried 200 meters underground. Quite stunning I must say!

Crated and ready to go!
