Shuli arrives

Shuli finally made it to Bogotá about 4:45am today. Needless to say, but he had a very long day. Much like I did yesterday. It was very fortunate that Claudia was able to help Shuli get through immigration and customs. The language barrier is significant when you only speak Chinese.

That’s the good news…the bad news is that our motorcycles are still in Miami and we do not yet have an ETA. I’m sure the hurricane had a significant impact on air travel that may take a few days to fully recover. If we don’t get the bikes tomorrow I guess we’re staying in Bogotá for the weekend.

Shuli and I had breakfast at the same place I ate yesterday. I’ll probably go back again tomorrow. Yesterday was the tamal con pollo, today was a croissant con jamón and tomorrow I may have the caldo  (this seems to be their most popular dish so I should probably try it!).

We met up with Sergio at the Argentinian Consulate to attempt to secure Shuli’s visa. No luck despite out pleading. If we are unsuccessful we will probably try again in Quito and then again in Lima. Otherwise we may be forced to separate before we enter leave Bolivia and enter Argentina.

We took a visit to the Museo de Oro and then went for a walk through Barrio La Candelaria. Finally we met Claudia and her cousin for dinner.
