The journey begins today! Sometime early tomorrow morning I'll arrive in Bogotá, Columbia to meet Sergio. Shuli and I will connect in Houston before our flight. Our motorcycles are being crated today in Miami in preparation for shipment to Bogotá later this week (read: fingers crossed). I've been watching the developments of Hurricane Ian and it looks like it should not cause us further delays. It's path is along the Gulf Coast of Florida - I hope it turns out to be less destructive than anticipated. I have plenty of experience with hurricanes growing up in Houston.
Yesterday Sergio, Shuli and I met one final time before our trip. Shuli is a Chinese citizen and needs a visa to enter Argentina; he already got his visa for Bolivia. Unfortunately, Shuli has not received his visa for Argentina. We will go to the consulate in Bogotá tomorrow. Just to make things a little more complicated, Shuli speaks no English or Spanish, only Chinese! You can see us using Google Translate to communicate on the video call.

ReplyDeleteMiles - I'll turn it on once we get our motorcycles and start heading south. We are in Bogotá and the motorcycles are in Miami. Hopefully they arrive today or tomorrow so we can start riding!
