México Day 4: Loreto

The highway zigs and zags across the peninsula. Today I zagged back to the Sea of Cortez side from Guerrero Negro to Loreto. The morning fog was cold - well, upper 50’s cold. Then it cleared and the rest of the day was in the 70’s and 80’s.

Another locals’ recommendation directed my to breakfast at a wonderful coffee shop. The huevos revueltos con espinacas was fantastic.

There is a cool oasis in the desert called San Ignacio. It’s spectacular what some water can do to the desert. The town has a European-style town square with a church built in the 1700’s. I love this place.

Shortly afterwards we got stopped in the highway due to a overturned 18-wheeler. I guess he was going to fast for the corner. We were initially told it would be 2-3 hours, but we only waited about 45 minutes.

Then the Sea of Cortez reappears! Next time I’m gonna camp along Bahía Concepción. Pure awesomeness. And then I arrived in my favorite town in Baja - Loreto.
