Coco’s Corner is quite the place. It’s located on the old gravel Highway 5. Now a gleaming slab of asphalt races about 5km past his place. Coco said he will be 83 on Feb 25th. He’s lived there for 35 years. After some conversation, photographs and signing into his book, we made our way to lunch.
Alphonsina’s is a gem in the remote desert off Highway 5 on the beach overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Fish tacos again...some of the group are ready for something other then tacos! It must be nearing the end of our trip, the guys are now making fun of my attire when I take off my Aerostich.
Since today was Wade’s birthday he got to select the restaurant. Many places are closed Monday and Tuesday here. He’d had enough of tacos so he chose pizza. After dinner we bought a small bottle of Jack from the 7-Eleven and enjoyed it with the Cuban cigars I bought in San Jose del Cabo.
Tomorrow - our last night in Baja at Mike’s Sky Ranch! Wade needs to get back to civilization so he’s starting his journey back to Oregon in the morning.
