Day 2 - Sun, Jan 19: Ensenada to San Quintin

The day started under crisp, clear blue skies. Our first stop was La Bufadora - I’m told it’s the second largest sea blow hole in the world.  We arrived well before the hoards of tourists arrived. Even the vendors were still setting up. The tides were low so we really didn’t see the blow hole in full action.

From there we took a side road from the highway to the coast. Most of the 26 mile “road” was dirt, gravel or sand. Some parts were fairly technical as we climbed and dropped along the hills. The last mile or so to the coast was the most difficult. Tim has was masterful all morning on his Ducati until a small mishap ended in a fall. Once we assessed the situation and got him down the hill all was fine and we road on. Wade’s off-road skills were in full display as he helped with the situation.

After a well deserved break and fuel stop we continued to our hotel in San Quintin. Dusk was upon us as we arrived. We ate dinner at the restaurant next door and watched the 49ers finish off the Packers.

Tomorrow destination is San Ignacio.

  1. The weather is near perfect, cool mornings and warm afternoons. No humidity. I haven’t mentioned in the posts yet, but the people here are extremely friendly. The GS is purring along - it’s make for trips like this!
